Villa Cammaratini

Luxury Sicilian Cooking Holiday

12.06.2026, Travel

The Wine Travel Awards proudly presents a new nominee – Villa Cammaratini (Sicilian Gourmet & Experiences) – and welcomes wine and culinary travel enthusiasts to an immersive gastronomic adventure in Sicily.

Our small group (up to 12 guests) will stay in the comfort of a traditional Sicilian villa, take part in a series of hands-on masterclasses led by a professional chef, visit renowned wine estates, and explore the vibrant food market of Modica – a city famed for its Baroque architecture, its hundred churches, and its authentic Aztec-style chocolate.

We are gathering like-minded travellers for a remarkable early October holiday – a magical enogastronomic journey fused with the true flavours of Sicily.

Villa Cammaratini

Villa Cammaratini

Nestled in the rural landscape of Modica, Villa Cammaratini is surrounded by centuries-old olive and carob trees set like a mosaic among traditional stone walls. This historic estate preserves the memory of the legendary healer Don Saro Aprile, whose reputation once drew visitors from across Sicily in search of remedies and secret formulas for wellbeing and pleasure.

The owner, Signor Antonio Di Rosa, drawing on his experience in the tourism transport sector and his desire to enrich local hospitality with new impressions, created the culinary project “Sicilian Gourmet & Experiences.” The project is designed for travellers passionate about gastronomy who wish to discover Sicilian culinary traditions not merely as observers but as active participants. It blends the region’s food and wine identity with the tranquillity of a warm, welcoming retreat.

Sicilian Gourmet & Experiences offers an in-depth, hands-on introduction to the island: immersion in local culture, walks through vineyards, exploration of food markets and wine cellars, and encounters with Modica’s confectionery and cheesemaking traditions.

A full-time chef accompanies guests throughout the programme, demonstrating traditional recipes ranging from simple dishes to refined creations, all prepared with high-quality local ingredients.

Villa Cammaratini embodies relaxation, understated luxury, and a deep immersion in the colours and aromas of authentic Sicily. Mornings greet guests with birdsong and the soft rustle of olive trees, while evenings settle gently over the quiet landscape, offering a sense of timeless serenity.

Accommodation is provided in elegant double rooms, each with a private bathroom and air conditioning. The spacious kitchen serves as the heart of the house, where culinary lessons bring Sicilian traditions vividly to life.
